An excellent book that evidences Amis' status as one of the most brilliant wordsmiths of our day.  The hectic lifestyle of John Self has an incredible twist, and is just a fun journey through craziness.  Nearly every sentence in the book is a carefully thought out way of saying what was previously banal.  Amis pokes fun at himself, the movie industry, his characters, and Americans.  Highly recommended.
