McCain amazing

So, I knew that McCain is a war hero and all, and that he was a POW, but had never read anything about it. This op-ed from WSJ from one of his fellow captors in Vietnam is a gripping read: Messages From John
It details some of the torture both prisoners underwent, how they communicated via tapping out messages on their shared wall, and their heroism under torture.

I think the greatest indication of McCain's honour is the fact that he could have procured an early release for himself by virtue of the high status his father had within the forces, but he stayed behind and further endured such horiffic torture because he did not want to be a "queue jumper" and be placed ahead of other prisoners who had been there longer.
I certainly know who I would be voting for if I were a US citizen.
PS I recommend the book 'An Evil Cradling' by Brian Keenan.
